Greek Chef George Kringas

Greek ChefGeorge Kringas is a Partner and serves as the Executive Chef of Niko’s Greek Taverna.  He originally learned how to cook from “Momma” Voula who also works at the restaurant, and recently graduated from the French Culinary Institute in Manhattan.

He writes regularly on his personal blog, GreekCulinary.com and truly loves food.

George has always been creative and before cooking had a prosperous career as a graphic artist.  He even designed and created the Niko’s Taverna logo and all the graphics that you see on the take out and dine in menus.

Here is what MH Reed of the NY Times said of George Kringas’ cooking…

“Two appetizers were outstanding. The octopus came as two huge, tender tentacles, dark under a glaze of balsamic vinegar; equally sensational was fresh Macedonian lamb sausage (loukaniko), complex yet mild.”

Of the lamb dishes… “Under a sweep of oregano-scented olive oil, three juicy, perfectly timed chops could not have been more delectable, and the huge braised lamb shank was fork-tender and nicely partnered with garlic potatoes and delicious green beans.”

His passion for food shows as he works tirelessly every day to create new recipes and concoct new combinations of food never before tasted. Take one bite and you will know that you are in the presence of a true Culinary Talent.

George Kringas is married to Danielle and lives in White Plains, New York.
